Delta dedicates to the sovereign Tutankhamon, known as the ‘boy pharaoh’, which reigned in Egypt during the seventeenth dynasty, this special limited collection. All writing instruments feature a medal portraying the Egyptian pound, currency of the Arab Republic of Egypt, with the famous solid gold death mask of the Pharaoh. The body of the pen is made of special resin turned by hand from solid bar and contains the different shades of brown typical of Egypt’s sandy deserts. The clip is a faithful reproduction of the stylized beard of Tutankhamon, iconography with which the pharaohs were identified in Osiris, the god of the Underworld. In ancient Egypt, in fact, wearing a fake beard with the tip pointing upward was a symbol of divinity. The central ring replicates a typical Egyptian ornamental pattern. The central ring and all other parts are plated in precious 24 carat gold. The blue and red of the resin rings are reminiscent of the colored glazes that enrich the golden mask, now preserved in the Cairo Museum. The fountain pen is fitted an 18K Fusion nib (EF,F,M,B,1.1mm Stub) and fills via standard cartridge or converter.
